Misconceptions about people with tattoos and piercings

This is a subject I would like to touch on its about tattoos, body piercings, etc. (Mainly tattoos) but it can relate also to piercings and anybody modifications in general.

If you have a tattoos or piercings you can most likely relate to this. There are some close minded people out there that like to talk negative towards people with tattoos and piercings or just tattoos in general. Some people like to say it is a phase, sure, there is some teenagers that do get body piercings and within a few years take them out. But there is people like me, I got my first body piercing when I was 13 years old and I still have it to this day and I am now 18. And I went through a phase? If I went through a phase I believe I would have taken them out by now. Or maybe I'm just too immature and like to go against society's standards. Yep, I got piercings just to piss society off. NO, I didn't I got them because I have an interest in them and I actually like them.

Here are some main misconceptions about people with tattoos, piercings, etc.

Its Phase Its Phase (I already touched on that subject in the paragraph above)

You want attention
I for one HATE attention of people. I didn't get my piercings and tattoos to get people to look at me, I got them because I like them. I have always had an interest in tattoos and body piercings I think they are both amazing ways to express who you are.

People that have tattoos/piercings are considered rebels, bikers, degenerates etc.
This is far from true. Have you ever been on pintrest? There is tons of random girls and guys who don't fit the stereotype of any of those and they have tattoos.

This is the main thing that really irritates the living  shit out of me when people say this is

"Those are going to look terrible when you're older and you're going to regret them."

Really? Having tattoos is going to make me look terrible when I am older? What's it going to do make me look even worse when having saggy wrinkly skin looks amazing by itself?  To me its going to be something to look back at and think of the times when I got it in my life or it'll be just like another story to tell someone.

You're going to regret it...
How do you know what I am going to regret? How do you not know this tattoo could resemble something special in my life that I want to commemorate with having it as an art piece on my body. I don't see any tattoo something to regret if you have taken enough time to think about what it'll mean to you in the future and how it will resemble when you get older. Now drunken tattoos are another story.

It even shows in this poll of 80% of people don't regret getting a tattoo or tattoos that they have

So before you ever judge someone who has tattoos or a single tattoo, think to yourself, maybe that has something that means a lot to them, and maybe it doesn't mean they're rebelling against society. There is no need to to state your opinion to someone with tattoos, piercings, etc if they don't ask for it. If you don't like it, that's fine, don't get one.

That's my rant of the day lol.

Piercings anyone?

Well here is a post I have tried to post numerous times but I always seem to get bored writing about it or I get distracted, but here it is. When you first look at me what is the first thing you notice? My smile? My eyes? Or my piercings? One of the main things I always get asked is "Does that hurt?"or "Why do you have those?" Well this blog will answer both of those questions.

The second question I will answer first "Why do you have those? or Why so many?". I have always had a love for piercings, I've had a love of tattoos for a longer time ever since I watched Miami Ink when I was like 10. When I discovered an interest for piercings I was around the age of 13. I love the thought of decorating my body, I believe our bodies are temporary place for our souls so why not decorate them with gems or art to express ourselves? Piercings also seem to help me get my individuality out. I don't like the definition of "normal" I've tried so long trying to be normal and was totally unhappy with life, the piercings help me be different and not be the same as everyone else. For the question of "Why so many?" Well that is your opinion that I have too many. I'm happy with the number of 8 body piercings and I'm happy with how they look.

Now here are the piercings that I have

My first piercing

Age I was: 13
1-10, Pain Scale: 3

Second Piercing
Labret (AKA LIP)

Age: 13 or 14
1-10, Pain Scale: 4 (I got this pierced 3 times and all the time the pain was about the same)

Third Piercing
Nose Piercing
Age: 14
1-10, Pain Scale: 6

Fourth Piercing
Tongue Piercing
Age: 15
1-10, Pain Scale: 9   (SORRY FOR MY BAD HAIR AND NO MAKEUP)

Last Piercing
Septum Piercing

Age: 15

1-10, Pain Scale: 8

Yep that is all my piercings :) Hope you enjoyed!
